This is the all-new Bajaj Chetak EV 3501. And while it externally looks almost identical to the older 3201, a lot of this is new. There’s a new frame, the battery pack placement is changed, a larger boot is a byproduct of those two things, and there are a few more incremental changes as well.
I’m going to run you through all of them in this short walk-around video. For the 3501, Bajaj has relocated the 3.5 kilowatt hour battery pack under the floorboard. We’re told IDC range is 153 kilometers, and Bajaj claims a real world range of about 120 kilometers.
As a result of the battery being placed under the floorboard and the 3501 using a brand new frame, Bajaj has been able to liberate a lot of boot space under this seat. This is now a 35-liter boot.
Bajaj Chetak EV digital feature

That is larger than the likes of the Ola, TVS and Ather rivals on offer today. This is likely to be the change that affects the end user of the Chetak the most. The top 3501 Chetak variant also comes with a new touchscreen TFT dash.
Even the top 3201 never came with a touchscreen TFT before. This dash can be paired via the Chetak app to your smartphone to access calls, notifications, navigation alerts, music playbacks, and the like.

Bajaj Chetak EV Seat length
Bajaj has also increased the seat length on the Chetak 3501 by 80 mm, and while the Chetak was never really a cramped scooter before, this is only a move that will increase the comfort for both the rider and the passenger.
To show you how two adults sit on the Chetak, I’m going to call our cameraman, Ashley. Ashley? Bajaj claims there have been some internal changes to the motor as well, although peak output at four kilowatts stays the same.
What is Top speed of Bajaj Chetak EV
On this top 3501 variant, top speed is 73 kph, and the zero to 40 kph time is also the same as the old 3201. Bajaj has lined up all the variants of the Chetak 35 series, so I’m going to give you a quick rundown of all of them.
This is the top 3501, we’ve explored this one in detail, so we’ll move on to the next one. That is the 3502. It carries over most of the hardware, including the front disc. The mid-spec Chetak never had a front disc.
This one now does. It replaces the lockable glove box of the 01 with two open storage cubbies. And you don’t get a key fob, instead you get a physical key. The TFT dash over here is also much simpler.
You don’t get touch sensitivity, but the rest of the scooter is the same. The seat padding is a little simpler, but it still gets a dual-tone seat. And that leaves us with the Chetak 3503.
This is the lowest variant in the Chetak lineup. It’s the only one to make do with a front drum brake, the color LCD display and simpler switchgear from the previous Chetaks, and its motor is the least powerful of the bunch.
What is Tech features
It’s only restricted to 63 kph. Don’t worry though, the rest of the features like the big boot are still carried over from the new Chetak that was shown today. The rest of the scooter is pretty much the same that it’s always been, including its design, and that’s no bad thing.
The Chetak has always been one of the better looking EVs out there with its flowing rounded design panels. And it is also the only one to come with a proper metal body.
Price details
This top 3501 is priced at rupees 1.27 lakh, pretty much on par with the earlier 3201, and the one below it, 3502, is 1.2 lakh rupees. And that’s just a small increase, I think rupee 3,000 over the previous 3202.
